I am Janet Mejorada, but people
call me Shorty. I am
very happy to be in the Latina Summer Academy because it gives Latina women
opportunity to get to know how college is. I am very thankful for the people
who gave us the chance to know and learn new things in college. I liked all
the field trips to Chalco hills, learning about lead poison and to the
Vivache in the Old Market.

I am Asusena Hernandez, but for short I go by Suzi. This
week I have gotten an opportunity to have a little taste of what college
would be like. It was really fun. I met fourteen new Latinas
who are my friends now. I n college of Saint Mary's we learned more
about Science and Technology. We had some very fun field trips as
well. I learned a lot and had a great time and experience!
