Hi! We are Joanna from Columbus and Ruth from Fremont. This
week we are attending the 2003 Latina Academy. We hope this week we learn a
lot about Urban Ecology, ourselves, and have fun with all the other girls.
Joanna: Hi! I am Joanna Vasquez originally from Mcallen, Texas. For the
past 10 years I have lived in Columbus, Nebraska. I love to play
basketball and hang out with my friends. This week though I feel I have
gained 14 great new friends. I think this is an experience I will never
forget.
Ruth: HI! I am Ruth Rascon. I was born in Chihuaha, Mexico but am
currently living in Fremont, Nebraska for two years. I like to read,
play basketball, and play the tambourine at the church I attend. My favorite
color is white but overall I love to be a Latina. My goal in life at this
time is to fluently speak English.
