I attended my first Nebraska Educational Technology Association Conference on April 30 2004. It was quite an Educational experience! I learned about the increasing importance of pursuing technology as a means of connecting with students. I attended a seminar headed by a man by the name of Marc Presnky. He offered ways to educate children by examining the culture of video games. Since video games are so popular with our young people nowadays why not harness their energy and channel it in an educational direction? The more fun you make learning for your students the more willing the students will be to learn the content of your lessons. The use of technology allows us more room to explore our options There is an array of new interactive computer programs on the market offering a wide variety of different tools for learning from English to Math to Science. I feel that learning is so much more interesting now than it used to be. When I was growing up all we had was books to read and learn about the world. Now you can surf the web to learn about the world by just the click of a mouse. The kids today just don't know how lucky they are!
