Our Week in School
- This week we practiced "Over in the Meadow" to perform
at our community meeting on Friday. We made masks for the animals we were.
- We shaved crayons and then melted them between sheets
of wax paper to make Easter egg designs.
- We cut out colored eggs and hid them in some paper
grass.
- We did the T page in our alphabet books.
- We finger painted in lots of different colors. Then we
cut our finger paintings into flowers. We made stems and leaves and have a
Spring garden on our wall now.
- Our buddies hid decorated paper eggs with our names on
them. We went to their room and had an egg hunt to find our eggs.
- In Art, we made pots on a wheel. Some of us did them
last week and some of us this week.
- We read a Frog and Toad story called "The Lost Button".
We made our own buttons to use for some activities. Each of us had ten
pennies to buy supplies to make a button. We sorted our buttons, and some
real buttons. We played two games with our buttons--"Is This Your Button?"
and "What Will be Left?". Then we had a button hunt where we had a card
with a picture of one of our buttons and we had to find the matching one
in the room.
- Other stories we read were "Tacky in Trouble" and "The
Country Bunny and the Little Gold Shoes".

HOMEWORK:
In Bible we have been studying
miracles of Jesus. Ask your child to give you at least three miracles
they can remember! Miracles show God cares for and loves us! They also
show us His
almighty POWER!
Next week we will start a new unit focusing
on pets. If you have any photographs of your pets we would love to
display them. If you do not have a pet at your house, your child could
bring in a drawing of a pet they would like to have or a photo of
someone else= s pet (Grandmas=
s??) |

In the Garden…
We used magnifying glasses to look at silkworms that had recently hatched
out of their eggs. We learned that they eat mulberry leaves and are raised
for the silk they produce when spinning their cocoons. We will keep an eye
on them as they grow over the next few weeks. We also planted carrot seeds
in the garden.
| The Zoo trip is coming up!! If any parents would
like to join us please let me know. The trip to the zoo is on
Friday May 2nd. We will be there all day so please make sure
your child brings a cold lunch. |

enjoy classifying their daily snacks into one of the four good groups we are
learning about. We encourage their daily snacks to be of a nutritious
nature.

"G" God is Love
John 4:8
Because children learn
by doing your child will be given an activity to work on at home called
the “Mountain of Love”. This project is provided to encourage your
child to do some of the helpful tasks that we will talk about in class.
I will explain that each step up the mountain states a helping act for
them to do at home or at school. As parents, your participation is
needed to record each of their accomplishments by coloring the heart and
to encourage your child to complete the tasks. They may also complete
the activity on the reverse side (pg 61). Have your child draw his/her
own idea of how they can help someone. Then complete the “I can help….”
statement at the top of their drawing. The children are asked to
complete and return their project the last week of the Lenten Season
